Hi!
I’m Cisa Jane and I’m the Community Manager @ BWS. I have been part of the team for almost 2 years now so I thought it was about time to share my experience and role at the Studios!
As an Anthropologist by trade, I have always been fascinated by human behaviour and culture, with a particular interest in how we as humans, and our ancestral cousins created art and their symbolic meanings. Through this, I have had the great opportunity of travelling the world to see our beautiful human story in all its glory, with a keen interest in South Central Africa.
After meeting the Creative Director and Co-Founder of the business, Ben Wild, we soon realised that having a community manager and cultural advisor in the then-budding business would add great value going forward. Since that point we have worked alongside the likes of the University of Manchester, helping researchers to illustrate the stigma around PrEP in the treatment of HIV. Many wonderful charities and local councils around the UK & much more.
One of the project highlights for me was working with our fabulous client Tanaka on a set of beautifully illustrated language cards that highlight & give a spotlight to forgotten languages of Africa.
As Community Manager at BWS, I also make sure that there's a healthy culture within the studios as well! To make sure that we are keeping up with our company values, even sometimes restricting who we work with as a result of this. It’s also incredibly important that we withhold our values for the rest of our team as well, in order to make sure that our team is always happy with their working relationship and to try and accommodate them as much as possible so that they always feel safe and supported. Because a Happy team is a Productive team!
Alongside creating and maintaining a healthy culture within the studios, I also work towards keeping up the face of the company, through our social media channels. Creating and interacting with content to build and maintain relationships and to show the world all of the amazing achievements and wonderful things that we have been working on.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Ben Wild Studios and a great few years so far!
